Delta Air Lines to purchase SAF test batch produced by Chevron

A test batch of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) is being produced by Chevron Corp. for sale to Delta Air Lines. The airline aims to replace 10 per cent of its jet fuel with SAF by 2030.

Chevron is to produce the SAF at its El Segundo Refinery for use by Delta at the Los Angeles International Airport.

SAF is made from such feedstocks as used cooking oil and animal fat. Cloud-based technology will be used to track the test batch emissions data.
